3D Printing Zone

For several years now, additive technologies have been among the fastest-growing areas of modern manufacturing. Increasingly, they serve not only as a tool for rapid prototyping but also as a fully-fledged method for manufacturing components used in the aerospace, automotive, space, energy, medical, and toolmaking industries. They are particularly significant in the field of composite materials, where they enable the production of lightweight and durable structures that would be costly—or sometimes even impossible—to manufacture using traditional methods.
This is precisely why the idea of creating the 3D Printing Show was conceived, which will take place as part of the KOMPOZYT-EXPO® Trade Fair.
The exhibition’s partners are the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, and the Faculty of Metallurgical Engineering and Industrial Informatics, which offer an innovative degree program in “3D Printing of Metallic Materials.”
The program has been designed to showcase the technology from both a scientific and practical perspective. Over the two days of the trade show, visitors will not only be able to observe the equipment in action but, above all, gain an understanding of the processes involved in additive manufacturing and learn about the actual capabilities and limitations of this technology.

The demonstration area will feature live 3D printer demonstrations, real-time printing sessions and presentations showing the entire manufacturing process – from a digital model to a finished component. Visitors will also discover industrial applications of additive manufacturing technologies and examples of their use across various sectors of the economy.

A key feature of the 3D Printing Zone will be its strong educational component. Experts from the AGH University of Science and Technology will present topics related to materials used in 3D printing, directional mechanical properties, the influence of process parameters on component strength, as well as microstructure analysis, cross-sections and failure samples. Participants will gain a better understanding of why the correct selection of materials and technological parameters is essential for achieving high-quality and durable components. The presentations will be complemented by short demonstrations illustrating successive stages of the additive manufacturing process.

The 3D Printing Zone will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and networking, combining scientific research with industrial practice. Through live demonstrations, expert presentations, discussions and examples of real industrial implementations, visitors will discover 3D printing not only as an innovative technology but also as one of the key tools supporting the development of modern industry.
